The company’s official statement clarifies, “Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 in the U.S. won’t begin on April 9, 2025, as initially scheduled. We are reviewing the effects of tariffs and shifting market conditions. We’ll provide further updates soon. However, the console’s launch on June 5, 2025, is still on track.”
A recent development on April 2 saw U.S. President Donald Trump introducing a comprehensive range of tariffs affecting numerous countries, including Japan and Vietnam. While Nintendo is headquartered in Japan, much of its manufacturing happens elsewhere.
