Hey everyone, I’m Yasuyuki Oda, and I’m thrilled to be the producer of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. Today, I want to excitedly guide you through some essential strategies using the REV System to help you conquer the toughest adversaries. We’ll also explore some impressive combos you can master and share our plans for the Season 1 Pass DLC characters. So let’s dive in and get you battle-ready for the thrilling world of Fatal Fury!
The secret to turning the tide in any battle lies in mastering the REV System. By harnessing the power of REV Arts, you can enhance your special moves, while REV Accel helps you string together dazzling combos to pressure your opponents. Defensively, the REV Guard button (R1) is your shield, keeping foes at arm’s length and upping your chances of clinching victory. A single button press activates REV Guard, making it perfect for fending off cross-ups. Whether facing Kain’s Schwarzes Rondo tricks or B. Jenet’s Gulf Tomahawk assaults, REV Guard is your ally. Plus, while holding REV Guard, you can input other actions—grab to break an opponent’s hold, or use a hop to escape tricky encounters. Make it a habit to wake up with REV Guard to fortify your defenses in a skirmish.
When it comes to crafting jaw-dropping combos, our iconic characters Mai Shiranui, Rock Howard, and Terry Bogard lead the charge. Follow their detailed guides to execute high-level combos, whether you’re squaring off against friends or battling opponents worldwide.
Take, for instance, Mai Shiranui. Her moves involve a close neutral HK, leading into a feint, transitioning into a close neutral HP, and employing the HP Hana Arashi with a break. She then utilizes REV Ryuuenbu ~ REV Sayo Chidori, followed by an aggressive HK Hissatsu Shinobi Bachi—again breaking, shifting to REV Hissatsu Shinobi Bachi ~ REV Hana Arashi (breaking), finally wrapping up with Kagerou no Mai.
Rock Howard, on the other hand, begins with a close neutral HK into a feint, then a swift ↓HP. His repertoire includes a REV Hard Edge ~ REV Rage Run Type: Layup, an HP Rising Tackle with a break, an HP Reppuu Ken, continuing with REV Rising Tackle ~ REV Shippuu Ken, culminating in a Raging Storm.
Terry Bogard’s sequence starts with a close neutral HP transitioning to → HP, a finely timed feint, leading to a far neutral HP. He lets loose a series of REV Burning Knuckle, REV Crack Shoot, HK Power Dunk with a break, REV Power Charge, REV Burning Wave, moving gracefully into REV Power Dunk, and concludes with a dramatic REV Blow just before landing in the Cosmic Strike Geyser.
As for the Season Pass 1, it brings five fresh characters into the fray. Making his comeback, Andy Bogard, Terry’s brother, blends Koppo and ninjutsu to dominate his foes. Hokutomaru shares several moves with Andy, so honing your skills with him is an excellent preparation for Andy’s release later this year.
Joe Higashi, the Muay Thai master known for his amicable yet fiery demeanor in battles, reuniting with Terry and Andy, forms an iconic trio. His return is planned for this Fall, marking a significant moment for series enthusiasts.
Mr. Big, a formidable adversary from the Art of Fighting series, steps back into action, wielding bojutsu and street fighting prowess to challenge South Town’s toughest combatants.
And excitingly, expect crossover thrill with Street Fighter’s Ken and Chun-Li joining the Fatal Fury universe as special guests. We can’t wait for these worlds to blend in this epic partnership.
