Kluge Interactive, known for the popular VR rhythm game Synth Riders, is set to make waves in the VR world again. Next month, they’ll introduce FINAL FURY, their new VR fighting game, to Quest and SteamVR headsets, launching in early access.
Starting May 8th, players with Quest 2 (and later models) as well as PC VR headsets, can dive into Final Fury. This arcade-style fighting game revitalizes the classic 1v1 battle format in VR, using a unique system that relies on gestures.
The development team collaborated with Justin Wong, a nine-time EVO champ, to create an engaging experience. Wong was drawn to their ambitious plan to bring traditional fighting mechanics into a first-person VR setting. He contributed insights on dashes, grabs, and character styles, and now eagerly anticipates players’ reactions as the game launches in Early Access.
Once early access kicks off, players can look forward to:
- Become the Fighter! – Experience fully immersive combat with real punches, dodges, and blocks.
- Innovative VR Combat – Classic fighter mechanics have been revamped for a more physical gameplay experience.
- Expanding Roster – Start with six unique fighters, each boasting distinct powers, arenas, and styles.
- Arcade Mode Unlocks – Challenge the AI to unlock new fighters, stages, and cosmetics.
- Online Multiplayer – Enjoy cross-platform play with rollback netcode, ensuring smooth competitive matches.
- Heart-Pounding OST – The game features an original soundtrack created by Zardonic, known for his work on SUPERHOT: MCD.
Final Fury will be available on May 8th for $9.99. You can add it to your wishlist at the Horizon Store for Quest 2 and higher, or on Steam for PC VR headsets.
