Sure, here it goes:

So, Samsung Unpacked is rumored to be kicking off again next month. Yeah, I know, that annual shebang where we’re supposed to see all the shiny new gadgets. This time, whispers are hinting at some fresh foldable phones — the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7, if you’re keeping count — not to mention Galaxy Watch 8. But, hang on… there’s more. Word on the street is, Samsung’s also planning to shine a big ol’ spotlight on their new XR headset, which they’ve oddly named Project Moohan. Weird name, right?
Anyway, let’s backtrack a bit. Project Moohan popped into the picture when it was announced with something called Android XR last December. Yeah, December 2024, to be exact. Apparently, it’s gonna be the debut device to strut Google’s upcoming XR operating system. They said it would drop this year, but, you know, still no official dates or anything. Such a tease.
And, get this: our friend, or maybe frenemy, ‘Panda Flash’ (famous for spilling Samsung’s secrets), believes this headset might finally get a release date at Unpacked. But don’t hold your breath. We thought we’d hear about it at Google I/O last month, which — surprise, surprise — didn’t happen. Maybe Samsung just wants to keep it to themselves a bit longer. Who knows?
(Let’s pretend there’s an eye-catching pic here of Project Moohan because visuals, right?)
Now, Panda Flash has been trailing the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7 like a bloodhound, soaking up every little leak and rumor. According to them, the mixed reality headset will first see daylight in South Korea. After that, it will slowly mosey on out to the rest of the world, a bit like how Apple rolled out the Vision Pro. First crack in the U.S., then worldwide.
Oh, and speaking of Vision Pro, Samsung’s been flaunting what could be their rival at a few events over the past year. Yours truly got a taste of Project Moohan back in December. But seriously, they’ve been pretty tight-lipped about what makes this headset tick.
What I managed to gather, though, is this: It’s got some Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 + Gen 2 under the hood, along with micro‑OLED panels from Sony. The resolution? Still a mystery. It also boasts pancake lenses (yum), auto IPD adjustment — whatever that is — and support for eye and hand-tracking. There’s even an option for a magnetically-attached light shield and a removable battery pack bolted on. Oh, and VR motion controllers? Yep, part of the deal. But we haven’t gotten a look at those yet.
Almost forgot: there’s buzz about Samsung cooking up smart glasses too. Could they be gunning for the same crowd as Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses? Maybe. Stay tuned.
Anyway, mark your calendars for Samsung Unpacked — whenever next month it decides to drop in New York City.
Flawed enough for ya?
