After much anticipation and discussions surrounding tariffs, we finally know when the Switch 2 preorders will open in the United States.
Nintendo has just announced that starting Thursday, April 24, you’ll be able to secure your Switch 2. The pricing remains as previously disclosed: $449.99 for the standalone system and $499.99 if you opt for the bundle that includes a digital copy of Mario Kart World.
However, due to ongoing changes, some accessory prices will see a slight increase. The Switch 2 Pro Controller will now cost $84.99, which is a $5 hike from before. Similarly, a pair of Switch 2 Joy-Cons have gone up to $94.99. If you’re planning to pick up an extra dock set, that will now be $119.99, an increase of $10. Extra straps for the Joy-Cons have gone up by a dollar, now priced at $13.99, and some other accessories are also seeing a $5 increase. The article includes a complete list of updated hardware MSRPs and details regarding the pricing for Mario Kart World and the anticipated Donkey Kong Bonanza.
For our friends in Canada, preorders are expected to kick off the same day. However, due to a national holiday, official confirmation might not arrive today. Even though Canadian retailers haven’t revised their details yet, Nintendo of Canada has assured us that the preorders will begin on the same date, along with Canadian pricing.
