Okay, so picture this: Codemasters, you know, those folks behind all the F1 games? They’re kinda thinking about bringing their racing series over to the Nintendo Switch 2. Crazy, right? But hold on — don’t go revving your engines just yet. This idea’s still pretty fresh, so who knows if F1 25 will actually make it there. Future games? Maybe — if everything falls into place. But I’m just daydreaming.
Think back to 2009. Yeah, that’s when they started dropping a new F1 game every single year. Non-stop. F1 25 is set to make its way to us on May 30, so circle that date. Oh, and a fun tidbit — it’s been like 14 years since F1 graced a Nintendo console. Wild.
Now, Gavin Cooper, the creative director (what a fancy title), mentioned something about how they’re gonna chat internally about the Switch 2. Like, you need some real brainiacs to figure out if the Switch 2 can handle all that F1 goodness. “Smart folks will assess,” he said, which kinda translates to, “We have no idea yet, but wouldn’t it be cool?”
This whole Nintendo thing could be a wild comeback, especially if you think, “14 years, where did the time go?” There was F1 Race Stars on the Wii way back in 2012, but the hardcore stuff? Only on the 3DS in 2011. Time flies when you’re missing F1 on Nintendo, huh?
Now, here’s a curveball. Maybe Codemasters should cool it with the expansion plans. F1 24 didn’t exactly hit the mark — reviewers were meh about those mid-race objectives. The buzz isn’t what it used to be. But F1 25’s early access is around the corner, May 27, so let’s see if they’ve sorted things out. Fingers crossed.
And, yeah, that’s pretty much it — all this talk about F1 and Nintendo made me want to take a spin myself. Maybe next time I’ll break out the old console. Or not. Who knows?
