Celebrating Zenless Zone Zero’s First Anniversary (Again) with a New Story Chapter

Hey, so these past weeks have been, let’s say, a bit of a rollercoaster for Zenless Zone Zero. They kicked off their first birthday stuff about a month back with a big splash on Xbox and dropped the much-talked-about 2.0 update. But here’s the kicker — the actual birthday is in July. Yep, July. But who’s going to argue with a juicy patch and new story arc popping up early? Not me, that’s for sure.

Now, today — yep, July 4 — marks the real anniversary. We’re seeing another patch roll out, just big enough to make us all take a second look. But here’s the twist: it’s only the reveal of update 2.1 and we’re left hanging till July 16 for the full deal. It’s called “The Impending Crash of Waves” — sounds dramatic, right? It’s all about this new faction, Spook Shack (love the name), and it adds two fresh areas, Sailume Bay and Fantasy Resort. Perfect seaside vibes for a summer story.

We’re diving into Season 2 Chapter 2, and Sailume Bay is the spot where stuff’s going down. Fantasy Resort is where the summer-themed escapades will unfold. Sounds like a blast — or a sunburn waiting to happen.

Also, new Agents are waltzing in. Ukinami Yuzuha is this S-Rank Physical Support type, and get this, she’s got a tankui sidekick, Kama, who tosses candy bombs. Sweet and destructive. Alice Thymefield also joins the party — she’s all about speedy swordplay and channeling her Blade Etiquette. Whatever that means.

When the update finally drops, a new Bangboo named Miss Esme will show up — another S-Rank contender. Plus, they’re re-running the popular Void Hunter Miyabi and Yanagi for everyone who missed them before.
