So, NVIDIA’s doing this thing again. You know, they’re holding back the driver for the RTX 5060 right up until, what, May 19th? Yeah, 19th, that’s the day it actually lands on shelves. Honestly, it’s got folks scratching their heads a bit. I mean, isn’t it odd? They’re kinda playing keep-away with the real performance details. Maybe they’re thinking nobody will notice. Or maybe they just love surprises. Who knows.
We’re sitting just under two weeks out from when the GeForce RTX 5060 8GB becomes a thing you can actually buy. They did a whole unveil show with the RTX 5060 Ti recently, right? But something’s weird. NVIDIA delaying the driver feels like, I dunno, maybe there’s something up with the performance? They’ve decided on the whole “no driver until you can actually buy it” approach. That’s coming straight from Igor’s Lab, by the way. So if you’re one of those “gotta have it now” types, good luck getting reviews before you hit that buy button.

I mean, sure, you can tell everyone’s geeked for all that new tech, but will they actually be back to share the lowdown on the RTX 5060? Not likely. Even Hardware Unboxed chimed in, and they’re pretty much saying the same thing. They’ve got the dang cards in hand but can’t preview them without the driver. Gotta love it.
The last time around, NVIDIA’s numbers were like those tricky carnival games. Promising a 25% boost over the old guy but independent verdicts are where it’s at. But, with no reviews hitting before launch, folks are kinda flying blind. Makes you wonder, are they just buying on faith?
The new RTX 5060’s rolling out with 8GB VRAM, sticking to its roots, I guess. Faster? Sure. But in 2025, that’s sorta like showing up to a marathon with dress shoes. Remember how the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB had everyone yawning? Yep, might be why NVIDIA’s had enough of reviewers poking at it early. Just can’t keep up with today’s gaming beasts, it seems.
