So, guess what? Limited Run Games finally gave us the scoop on the Gex Trilogy. Yep, it’s happening, folks. And mark your calendars because they dropped a date – we’re looking at June 16, 2025, for the digital version on Nintendo Switch. Physical editions? Later, but let’s not get too picky.
This bad boy’s a three-pack – Gex, Gex: Enter the Gecko, and Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko. They’ve been spruced up with these nifty features like Rewind and Save Anywhere. I mean, who doesn’t love a do-over when you mess up? And they even tossed in 16:9 widescreen support. Crazy, right?
Oh, man, I nearly forgot the physical editions. Here’s what they got cooking:
-
Standard Edition ($39.99 if this matters) – You get the game (obviously), and some other usual suspects like a case and booklet. Not bad if you’re a minimalist.
-
Classic Edition ($74.99 for the fancier folks) – The standard goodies plus a Steelbook, a double-sided poster (because why settle for one side?), and a soundtrack CD. Retro box included. Pretty sweet if you ask me.
- Tail Time Edition ($199.99 because why not go big?) – Everything in Classic but with crazy extras. A 36” inflatable Gex (for your, uh, inflatable needs), a Gex statue, trading cards, and a remote pin. Oh, and a full soundtrack CD. Plus, Collector’s Box with art by Yoshitaka Amano. Fancy, huh?
They’re really trying to cash in on our nostalgia, aren’t they? Pre-orders are live already – just until July 6, 2025. So, yeah, if you’re a Gex fan, or just swimming in the nostalgia pool, maybe it’s time to dive in. Or not. Your call. Also, supposedly there’s a trailer, but I got distracted thinking about the Gex doll. Weird, right? Anyway, that’s the gist of it.
