So here’s the deal: SteamDB data, which I’ve no clue how to read but apparently is a big deal, showed Battlefront 2 shooting from its usual 10-15k players to a whopping 30-35k on Steam last weekend. Can you imagine that? It maxed out at 35,892 — don’t ask me how they get these numbers, it’s magic.
Why the sudden jump? Simple. EA’s throwing a wild summer sale, slashing prices like crazy — 90% off legit has people giddy. The PC price tag dropped from $39.99 to $3.99. No, seriously. Xbox folks get it for $4.99, though, poor PlayStation users are stuck with the usual $19.99. Sorry, guys.
And oh, if you’ve got an EA Play membership through Game Pass, you’re golden. I’m still figuring out this stuff myself.
Looking at those prices… seriously, if you haven’t tried it, now’s probably the time. I read somewhere — not sure where now, maybe it was a dream — that over 160k people were playing at peak last month. With current numbers? I’d bet my morning coffee those stats are old news now.
It’s funny. This whole craze is bursting out again, and I kinda get it. Battlefront 2 does look stunning, even if it’s ancient in gaming years.
