Alright, so here’s the thing — Elden Ring Nightreign just pulled a fast one on all of us. Out of nowhere, bam, a new update drops. No heads up, no downtime, just like, “Hey, update me!” Oh, and it’s like you have to update to keep things working with others.
Anyway, this update, 1.01.4 if you’re into that sort of detail, follows the last one (1.01.3 came in June). Now, I bet you’re thinking these little updates don’t matter — but oh boy, they do. Trust me.
Now let’s dive into what’s new-ish, sorta. This patch adds weapon types to the Armament Info screen. Handy, right? Makes it easy to see what type of shiny stick you’re lugging around. You can keep those juicy buffs without losing sleep over decisions. Maybe helpful, maybe just there.
And bugs — oh, the bugs. Like, this one bug that made matchmaking freak out if pals joined and bailed all at once. Fixed! And missing gestures and achievements? Yeah, they patched those up, but heads up — you gotta meet those requirements again. Sorry, not sorry.
Although, here’s the kicker — no one’s really shouting about it, but they’re setting up for the Sentient Pest Nightlord as the next big baddie. Everdark Sovereign, anyone? Feels like a sci-fi movie, but it’s happening. More on that tomorrow.
Speaking of which, Nightreign’s got these boss fights — Everdark Sovereign versions of the old baddies. Tough as nails. New moves, too! Perfect for throwing off anyone too comfy with the old routine.
Oh! Here’s a pic of Gnoster the Sentient Pest. Creepy, right? But in a way that’s oddly exciting. Can’t wait to see it change things up!
Now, I tried to skim through the patch notes, and here’s what stood out:
– Weapon types are finally in the Armament Info menu.
– That matchmaking fail bug? Gone.
– The “It’s Raining!” gesture bug is fixed. (But do the thing again to unlock it.)
– And some janky stuff with music and achievements is cleaned up.

Alright, that’s it. Go update and game on. Or, you know, do whatever. I’m not your boss.
