Sure thing. Let’s dive into the messy world of words.

So, like, last year—or was it the year before?—Sightful came out waving this cool laptop idea with AR glasses mashed right in. Then wham! They did a 180 and ditched it, deciding instead to whip up some rad AR software thingy for Windows. Enter Spacetop for Windows. Now, I’m no tech guru, but apparently, with this thing, your workspace goes all virtual and private. I’m picturing a bubble, but, you know, cooler.
Right, so they’re doing this dance again with XREAL AR glasses. But now it’s not just for them fancy-schmancy Sightful devices! Nope, they’re casting a wider net—Dell, HP, and those other tech giants, you get the picture. Pretty wild shift, if you ask me.
Yeah, back to their earlier antics (or was it shenanigans?)—they were fiddling with a ‘headless’ laptop gizmo running SpaceOS, which, surprise, surprise, got axed in October 2024. What’s the story there? Well, they figured those neural processing gizmos could beef up performance while sipping battery juice. Huh.
Fancy image of a bed with Spacetop, Image courtesy Sightful. Why a bed, though? Makes me think of lazy Sundays. But whatever.
And hey, for $899, you snatch up a Spacetop Bundle—comes with these slick XREAL Air 2 Ultra AR glasses (shiny, right?) and a year’s Spacetop subscription, running at $200 after that. Optional lenses, too, for those of us squinting—$50 single-vision, and for the VIP bifocal crowd, $150.
If you’re hunting for the perfect laptop match, consider a Dell XPS Core Ultra 7 or an HP Elitebook, among others. Or just ignore me and get whatever.
So, what’s the spicy stuff here? They’ve raised a luuuvly $61M from big names; Sightful sprouted up in 2020, thanks to some brainiacs from Magic Leap and Broadcom. Tel Aviv is home, but they’ve got digs in Palo Alto and beyond.
Wanna geek out more? Check out Spacetop for Windows or, I don’t know, take up knitting. Life’s about choices!
