The tenth generation of Pokémon games might just bring us to the sunny landscapes of Greece, drawing inspiration from its rich mythology. This could mean fresh designs for both new and old Pokémon. Rumors are swirling that Tauros, in particular, might evolve into something reminiscent of the legendary minotaur, but is that really necessary?
Considering Tauros just received a series of fresh regional forms in Generation 9, it feels a bit soon to give it yet another evolution. Even though the minotaur theme could fit like a glove, giving Tauros another update so soon might overshadow Miltank, its counterpart, which hasn’t received similar attention. True, Miltank gained fame in Gen 2 thanks to its challenging Gym Leader battle, earning a devoted fanbase without any regional variations.
Though tempting, providing Tauros with a minotaur evolution might not excite everyone. Plus, every iteration of Paldean Tauros from Gen 9 already embraces a Fighting-type, which seems like an inevitable choice for a minotaur-inspired evolution. Such repetition risks feeling stale.
The Greek setting isn’t officially confirmed, so fans should approach the idea with caution. While the potential for innovative designs and evolutions is exciting, spreading the creative love more evenly might keep players truly engaged.
