Hey, so Xbox Game Pass Ultimate just got another fresh game. It’s called something like… Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. I swear, every time I hear “Wuchang,” I imagine funky pirate ships and feathered hats. Anyway, this one’s joining the party as the 16th new title this July. Like, can you even keep up with all the new games they’re adding?
Alright, so there’s this studio, Lenzee Games, from China that cooked up the whole thing. It’s set in 17th century China — The Ming dynasty was on its last legs, if my history cheat sheets are right. And oh, Wuchang is a pirate, obviously — with amnesia. Because, why not? She’s got something called the Feathering Disease, which sounds oddly like something you’d catch if you forgot to bring an umbrella. And let me tell you: it’s nasty. Was first hyped up in 2021 (by accident, maybe?) and folks made it official it’d hit Game Pass right on day one during some Xbox showcase in 2024. Finally drops in April 2025, but here we are now!
What’s wild is people on the U.S. East Coast got to sneak in and play a bit early on July 23rd. Ah, loopholes, right? Anyway, the official big day was July 24th. Xbox peeps or PC fans, go nuts with it. Though, if you’re clinging to your old Xbox One, guess what? You’re in the cloud now. At least that’s how Microsoft rolls.
Side note: they’re shuffling in another new game, Grounded 2, later this July too. Never ends!
So, Wuchang’s been hitting the right notes with critics. Everyone drooling over its combat — all fast and furious. There’s this whole Madness system, kind of a peculiar spin on your typical soulslike vibe. It’s like you don’t go broke on experience after dying. Instead, there’s a Madness meter — spooky, huh?
Yet, not everyone’s dancing in the streets. Some say, “meh, seen it before,” with the storyline. Plus, talk about a roller-coaster difficulty. One minute you’re king of the hill, next minute, wham, you’re toast. That’s just how the cookie crumbles, I guess.
Oh, and quick thing: if you’re banking on this hitting Xbox Game Pass Standard soon… Don’t hold your breath. Maybe 2026? Meanwhile, buckle up for the Grounded 2 early access on the 29th.
Okay, I’m babbling now. Catch you later!
