Oops, almost forgot to write today. Or did I? Either way, if you’re like me, waiting on a new game can feel like an eternity, right? Ecco the dolphin—yeah, that one. Kind of a legend in the gaming world. Maybe a new game is coming, maybe not. Who knows? In the meantime, fans are swimming around like they’re just waiting for another chance to dive into the ocean as Ecco. But it’s not easy, man. Those challenges? Rough.
Anyway, there’s this third-dolphin—err, third-person game called Ecco: Defender of the Future. Didn’t have Annunziata’s touch, but hey, they nailed the whole eerie, cozy vibe. You know, like when you’re alone in the dark, and everything sounds sorta… alive? Mix that with music that echoes in your brain and boom—steep learning curve city. But, let me tell you—biggest disappointment? I’ll never be a dolphin. I mean, come on!
On a side note, Annunziata himself, seems like he gets it. He once told Xbox Wire he dreamed of being a dolphin. Kind of wild, right? Who wouldn’t want to be a dolphin? Almost-human like the whales but way more fun. Apparently, gamers are smarty pants (big surprise), and love can change the world or something. Makes you think, huh?
The guy’s got this whole Pacific Islander vibe going on, and he’s all about protecting the ocean. I can’t blame him. I mean, imagine if humans worked with the ocean’s cycles instead of against them? Just picture it. Anyway, whatever helps people relate to the ocean is a win in my book—or his, rather. It’s like being part of this huge, flowing family.
So, about those remasters of Ecco the Dolphin and Ecco: Tides of Time, the whole original team’s on board, but when they’re dropping? Your guess is as good as mine. No dates yet. Maybe someday.
