Okay, so get this. The Strong National Museum—yeah, the one with all the cool toys and games—just said they’re adding a few new legends to their World Video Game Hall of Fame. Bet you can’t guess which ones. Alright, I’ll just tell you: Defender, GoldenEye 007, Quake, and Tamagotchi. Seriously, Tamagotchi? Those little digital pets we all had – mine always died, but whatever – they’re hall of famers now. Who would have thought?
Anyway, there was this list, a bunch of other games too, like Age of Empires and Angry Birds. Some big names, but nah, they didn’t make the cut this year. Maybe next time, Angry Birds. I mean, flinging birds at pigs, classic, right?
These four games, though, apparently they left a major mark on us and the whole gaming scene. I guess that’s why they got picked. They check all these fancy boxes or something: icon status, longevity, global reach, influence—you know, all the stuff that makes you a legend.
Oh, and fun fact, Quake is like the sibling to Doom, which was already in there since 2015. Guess it runs in the family. I remember Doom… those monsters gave me nightmares. But Quake? That was a whole other level.
What else? Oh yeah, last year, they picked games like Asteroids and Myst. Resident Evil too, can’t forget that creepy mansion. This museum sure knows how to pick ’em. So congrats to the newbies. Hopefully, they enjoy their shiny spot in gaming history.
