IO Interactive is up to something big this week. Honestly, it’s kind of exciting, yet a bit overwhelming. So, they’re throwing this first-ever event called the IOI Showcase. It’s both live-streamed and in-person. Sort of like a hybrid party that I assume must have some pretty decent snacks at the actual venue. Or maybe not. Who knows?
They’re kicking off at 6pm PDT / 9pm EDT this Friday, June 6. That’s 2am BST or 3am CEST on Saturday, June 7, for those who like to do early morning hangouts—virtually, of course. You’ll find all the action on their Twitch, YouTube, and TikTok channels. It’s kind of wild, thinking about how many screens are glowing around the world at any given second. But I digress.
There’ll be everything from trailers and announcements to gameplay demos. Oh! And some sort of live Q&A too. IO Interactive is teaming up with Build A Rocket Boy, among others. And if you’re into nerding out over game engines, they’ll even talk about their Glacier engine. Sounds icy!
Hakan Abrak, IO Interactive’s CEO, described this event as a celebration of their 25-year history with HITMAN. Twenty-five years is a long time for stalking people in virtual environments, come to think of it. They’ve got some "exciting surprises" lined up. I wonder what could possibly surprise us at this point—dinosaurs in tuxedos?
So, what games should you look out for? There’s more on them below:
Hitman World of Assassination: They’re definitely talking about that, especially since it’s the franchise’s big 25-year shindig. Expect news about upcoming juicy content and who knows, maybe a secret handshake for superfans.
MindsEye: This is a new one from Build A Rocket Boy, and IOI Partners are publishing it. They describe it as a narrative-driven, action-adventure thriller—fancy words for “get ready to sit on the edge of your seat.” This thing launches on June 10, 2025. Mark your calendars, or don’t. No pressure.
007 First Light: So, apparently IO Interactive has something special with James Bond. A standalone game entirely cloaked in mystery—until this week. Probably a good time to polish up those spy skills, or just daydream about owning a tux.
And for the grand conclusion, they’ve dubbed this showcase the "IOI Showcase Livestream June 2025.” It all feels very official and slightly epic. Like, you should probably wear your comfiest pajamas to match the mood. Anyway, it seems like it’ll be a ride—or maybe just a mildly entertaining evening. Guess we’ll find out soon enough, huh?
