Okay, picture this: Eldramoor. Yeah, that’s the name. Haven in the Mist. They’re launching this Kickstarter next week and it’s all about reviving that magical chaos left by Orbus VR. Remember that one? Poof, gone.
So, on June 24th, these folks over at Resolute Games — yeah, they’re ex-Orbus players — are throwing their hat in the ring with a new VR MMORPG. It’s like they said, “Hey, let’s do this thing right.” And we’re talking Quest 3, SteamVR — the good stuff — hopefully by next year.
Here’s the vibe they’re throwing out there: Imagine you’re on this epic ride through Eldramoor, where you’re basically following this hero dude, Eldranis. Fight, play, connect — there’s a tavern, people — with quirky mini-games! But, oh no, there’s some creeping doom in the shadows. Drama, right? Gotta save the island from spooky forces.
Now, get this — you’ve got Warriors, Mages, Monks, Alchemists. The whole shebang. Plus raids, dungeons, big-bad-boss fights, and even some chill stuff like fishing and cooking. But wait, not every little feature will be ready to go right off the bat. Classic.
But, man, this VR MMO market? Tough crowd. Orbus poofed out, Zenith folks pulled back, money woes — all that jazz. Meanwhile, Ilysia is still kicking — thanks to Kickstarter back in 2020. It’s on the Quest and SteamVR, always dropping updates, selling some in-game goodies. They’ve nailed the survival gig.
Lynn M. Souza, Resolute’s maestro, spills on Discord: Orbus was cool for its time, but kinda got stuck in 2019 without much TLC. Then came Zenith and Ilysia — both intriguing, right? Anyway, they’re shooting for a $25,000 start, same vibes as Zenith’s debut.
2026 is the big reveal — with an alpha towards the end of 2025 and, fingers crossed, a beta around Summer 2026. Just a calendar away, I guess. June 24th, Kickstarter kicks off until July 24th. Oh, and their Steam page is live. Wishlist galore!
No idea why I care so much, but there’s something magical about a new game brewing — messy as it might be.
