In a recent update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Treyarch addressed and swiftly resolved a problem with the Hit List event, where eliminations were incorrectly capped. This event is critical as players need to achieve eliminations in various modes – Warzone, Multiplayer, and Zombies – to gather Skulls and unlock unique rewards such as a Weapon Charm and Calling Card.

The Hit List event, which kicked off on November 21 and runs until December 4, offers customary and communal rewards, capping with the unveiling of the Sirin 9MM Secondary Weapon after hitting the milestone of 50 billion eliminations by the community. Following reports of incorrect display counts, Treyarch carried out a swift fix after a thorough investigation.

According to CODUpdates’ Twitter feed, a glitch initially showed eliminations stopping at 25 billion, despite backend systems accurately tracking the figures. Progress wasn’t hindered by this display issue, reassuring participants. Their Trello board confirmed the resolution and noted other challenges, such as unexpected mantling speeds and certain display errors, slated for future fixes.

The rapid pace at which Treyarch corrected this issue underscores their efficiency in handling event-related bugs. During the temporary cap, the community’s impressive progress meant they surpassed the eliminations needed for certain rewards, like the Hand Cannon Scorestreak and possibly the Veteran Perk.

Going forward, the event continues, hinting that all community rewards including those tied to eliminations will likely be unlocked. No software update was required for this particular fix as Treyarch delivered a hotfix, pointing towards seamless problem-solving as they update Black Ops 6.
