Captain Blood Set to Launch on Nintendo Switch This May

SNEG has officially unveiled the release date for the much-anticipated Captain Blood adventure game on the Nintendo Switch.

Originally slated for launch on the Xbox 360 way back in 2010, the game encountered significant hurdles when its publisher went bankrupt, and legal entanglements paused any further developments. Fast forward 15 years, and those roadblocks have finally been cleared, bringing the game closer to enthusiasts everywhere.

In Captain Blood, the story kicks off when the daughter of the local magistrate is kidnapped. Swallowing his pride, the magistrate turns to Captain Blood and his crew for rescue. You’ll step into the boots of the “most daring pirate captain ever,” embarking on epic adventures filled with cannon blasts, pistol duels, and exhilarating sword fights that only the high seas can offer.

“Captain Blood is truly a homage to a different time in gaming, an era where you could dive into a compelling, linear, and QTE-rich game over a weekend and still have room to debate the upcoming console specs,” shares Artem Shchuiko, co-founder of SNEG. “Every bit of effort and enthusiasm has been poured into this project, from the original developers to our team at SNEG Ltd. Captain Blood is set to make its digital debut on the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo Switch globally on May 6, 2025.
