Okay, so there’s this thing called State of Play today. Packed with so much stuff I barely know where it started. New games, dates, trailers—and I mean, the lot. Maybe you caught it—or not. If you didn’t, though, don’t sweat it ’cause I’m here to spill.
First off, there’s this full show replay, like, right below. You know, if you want to relive every single moment. And then, down there somewhere, I went through each game. Recap style. Announcements, trailers, a bit of jazz from the developers. Not sure why I did it, but here we are.
Anyway, Astro Bot! So, there’s these new levels they’re dropping, called Vicious Void Galaxy—sounds nuts, huh? Five of them. Gonna need all your skills—or at least think you will. Plus, there’s a new smiley Astro Bot controller coming. Who doesn’t want a happy gamepad?
And there’s more games, obviously. Like Baby Steps. It’s kind of an oddball walking sim? Releasing September 8. I laughed too hard at the onesie-wearing dude toddling around—blame it on my lack of sleep or humor, your call.
Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement returns. Thought about castles and spooky stuff while looking at it—don’t ask me why. Plus, Cairn, which is all about climbing. Really makes you think about palm sweat and heights, doesn’t it? Dropping November 5.
You’ve got Digimon—another trailer. Looks pretty as heck. Launching October 3. Wait, no, rewind a bit—there’s Everyone’s Golf Hot Shots with Pac-Man. Uh-huh, Pac-Man. As bizarre as it sounds, that circle-head dude’s in it.
Final Fantasy Tactics, anyone? Can’t believe it’s getting a revamp. I remember losing hours on that game back in the day, you know? Coming back September 30.
Then Ghost of Yōtei is gonna get a special episode in July. I’m just, like, “what’s next?” Sucker Punch is gonna expand on combat or something. Can’t wait to see it.
Here’s another weird one—Hirogami. Paper stuff, very artsy. Out on September 3. And oh, there’s this new 007 action-adventure, First Light. James Bond before he was Bond, I guess? PS5 next year.
Lumines Arise seemed worth a mention. Puzzle game with stages and VR stuff. I’m not huge into puzzles, but hey, maybe you guys dig it.
Marvel Tōkon looked fun. Like, fighters, Marvel-ized. And I know people love them some superheroes. It’ll definitely be a spectacle to say the least.
Metal Gear Solid Delta is back with a peek at the Cobra Unit. Nude Snake stuff. Snake vs Monkey, too—don’t ask.
What’s up with Mortal Kombat Kollection, by the way? All those games and documentaries—calling out to the old-school fighters, maybe?
What about Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound? Yet another in the ninja genre. Then, boom—Nioh 3 popping on scene. Demo should be out, too, and I might check it out—if I don’t get distracted by, uh, anything else.
PlayStation Plus! Some other old games coming back. Like Deus Ex and Twisted Metal. Classics, they say. Too many to keep track of.
Pragmata got a trailer. Looks sci-fi, futuristic, all those vibes. Sharing gameplay this time, set for 2026. File it under new IPs, I guess.
And Project Defiant, which is a fancy way to say ‘new fight stick’. Wireless, wired, all that jazz. Gamers should be keen.
Romeo is a Dead Man feels like it’s straddling the edge of absurdity. Guy messing with time and space and there’s FBI and battles? I’m confused, but kinda intrigued.
Sea of Remnants comes too, with pirates, puppetfolk, and seas to explore. Thought about Muppets on boats. Turning up sometime later.
Silent Hill raises its foggy head once more with a standalone, named Silent Hill f. Details were spooky, like always.
Sword of the Sea lets you surf myths. Something or other about inspiring tales and environmental quizzes. Heading for PS5 soon.
Last but not least, Thief VR—a stealth classic reborn for VR. Feels a bit like they fit Magpie into the shadows, but hey, that’s the point, right?
Seemingly, Road 96 is back with Tides of Tomorrow. Post-apocalyptic sea adventure… tingling with decisions. Quite the concept to wrap your head around. I guess I’m out of thought-trains.
Who reckons what lands first from that bunch? You decide. Now, grab those snippets or don’t. Do what feels right and be merry.
