So, New Eridu is buzzing today. Why? It’s Zenless Zone Zero’s first anniversary bash. They’re going all-out with Version 2.0, an Xbox launch—finally!—and a log-in event. It’s like a gift explosion: a free S-Rank Agent, an S-Rank W-Engine off the gacha, 1,600 Polychrome to blow on pulls, and some exclusive avatar thing to show you were VIP at the party. Sounds wild, right?
Now, you might be scratching your head thinking, “Wait, has it really been a year since ZZZ hit the scene?” Surprise! It’s technically not even their birthday yet. They launched on July 4, 2024. But, apparently, HoYo games like to party early. They’ve got this six-week thing going on, so the anniversary stuff rolls out now. Gives players a good 40 days to snag the goodies.
Anyway—oh, side note: enable cookies if you’re craving more content. (I don’t write the rules, just stating the facts.)
Back to ZZZ. It’s this cool urban science-fantasy RPG. You follow Belle and Wise—siblings running a video store that’s really a cover for their gig. They’re actually guiding “Agents” through sketchy places—called “Hollows”—around New Eridu. It’s their weekend job. What’s funky is, you play as the siblings only in the hub while Agents do all the heavy lifting in battles.
With Version 2.0, they’re kicking off Season 2. New mysteries, new faces! Yixuan and Pan Yinhu join the party. They’re fresh new Agents; Yixuan’s S-Rank, Pan’s A-Rank. Oh, can’t forget, Yixuan’s a Rupture Agent—a whole new damage class. First since launch! Part of this group called Yunkui Summit—11th faction—marking their big debut. Surely stirring up the plot.
Oh, Xbox users, rejoice! ZZZ’s finally on your console turf. Plus, it’s on Xbox Cloud Gaming. Took them a while, huh?
Here’s an image of Yixuan looking all shiny. She drops in for this exclusive event with Astra Yao, who’s also making a comeback. Pan Yinhu’s joining the banner pool once the festivities wrap up.
Let’s not skip the elephant in the room: HoYoverse’s tangled in some labor drama. U.S.-based voice actors for ZZZ, along with Genshin and Honkai, are having a tiff, claiming replacements in the cast are linked to their strike. They’re striking to protect against AI stealing their voices. HoYoverse’s not saying much, just chalking it up to “scheduling issues.” Hmm. Intriguing, right?
