Path Games, an innovative studio out of Barcelona, has unveiled its next thrilling project: Dark Mass. This new game dives into the depths of psychological horror, quite literally, as it unfolds entirely underwater on both PC and console platforms.

Founded in 2017, Path Games aims to craft immersive horror experiences with unique gameplay elements and environments. They made their debut with the atmospheric horror title Insomnis in 2022, setting a solid groundwork for their storytelling and design capabilities.

Dark Mass, their forthcoming release, draws inspiration from their previous work but ramps up the intensity considerably. It places players in the shoes of Alice, a deep-sea diver who finds herself trapped in a submerged manor after a seismic event. As she navigates these haunting depths, Alice must unravel a series of ancient, mystical rituals to find her way out.

The game’s initial teaser reveals just snippets of what is to come, offering glimpses of both the spine-chilling surroundings and the unspeakable horrors lurking within. Despite its fictional premise, Dark Mass is deeply rooted in reality, drawing on historical torture methods for its narrative’s dark rituals, adding an unsettling layer of authenticity to the horror experience.
