Alright, here goes. So there’s this game, Scar-Lead Salvation. It’s one of those roguelite, third-person, sci-fi shooters, right? You know the kind. Anyway, it’s on PS5. Apparently, you wake up as this character named Willow Martin. No clue who she is at first, but she’s got no memories. Zip, nada. Kind of a messy start if you ask me. But that’s not the worst of it — enemies pop up like unwanted houseguests, and honestly? It gets intense.
Okay, so I was playing this thing and thought, wow, this is nuts. You’re navigating these floors with traps and everything. You turn a corner and boom, there’s an enemy right in your face. They’re like rabbits, multiplying everywhere. And there’s a military AI floating around, which—side note—either it helps you or it doesn’t, I still haven’t figured it out.
Controls are pretty standard I guess? Left stick to move, right stick for the camera. Kind of feels like patting your head and rubbing your stomach at the same time. Oh, and you’ve got this Mirage Shift thing. It’s supposed to help dodge attacks, but sometimes I just fumble and jump around like a headless chicken. Fun times.
So as you play, you find these Micro Armory boxes. They drop random stuff—like a surprise party, but with guns. You gather Exo Force to unlock skills, but here’s the kicker: if you take a hit, your Exo Force drops like a lead balloon. You ever have those days where things just don’t stick? Yeah, it’s like that.
Money-wise, there’s this currency called Elm. You spend it on skills and weapons, but if you die—surprise—back to square one with just essentials. I learned the hard way to upgrade weapons at the workbench right when I can. Lost count how many times I’ve said, “next time, don’t forget.”
Trophies? Oh, there are plenty. Get through bosses, use Onslaught mode, dodge like you’re in a dance-off. Collect a ton of stuff. It’s like a checklist for chores but in-game. At least there’s a Platinum trophy at the end of this rainbow.
So, Scar-Lead Salvation’s officially out there today on PS5, snag it if you’re into this kind of madness. Somehow, even with the chaos, it grabs you. Just don’t blame me if it chews up your time.
Oh, and full disclosure, this was based on a review copy sent by Idea Factory International.
